AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM RESEARCH IN TIMES OF GLOBE CHANGE
Human activities reduce diversity, ecosystem functioning and services. Ongoing efforts aim at understanding consequences and mitigating impacts of global change.
Our vision is to contribute to this endeavor by supporting sustainable resource development and ecosystem protection through innovative research. To this end, we pursue fundamental and applied research that entails experimental and field studies at various organismal, spatial, and temporal scales.
We engage in interdisciplinary research to develop thorough understanding of aquatic ecosystems in collaboration with national and international partners. At the same time, we offer a wide range of teaching and training opportunities to support the cultivation of new generations of aquatic scientists and an informed public.
